Travel insurance and shoulder condition

Hi,

We booked some flights to Turkey in January for May, and this week I've been diagnosed with the early stages of frozen shoulder. At the moment I'm in terrible pain but I would be able to go on a plane, although obviously wouldn't enjoy the holiday as I can't sleep (pain is worse during the night) or move my right arm.

Would this be covered by travel insurance? We have 2 travel insurances with NW flex account and also my partner has one with Lloyds credit card (not sure if this would cover me).

Never made a claim on a travel insurance before so not sure how this works.

Thanks

Presuming the insurance was in place prior to booking the holiday and in turn the symptoms started after booking the holiday then you should be fine as long as you dont have any pre-existing conditions that werent declared and your GP concurs that you arent fit to travel

    Thanks for you reply.

The insurance is always in place.. it comes with the bank account and credit card, we don't have to do anything.

I've had shoulder problems for 7 years, but nothing serious. This has come out of a sudden, it was diagnosed on Tuesday when I had to go to the GP after a sleeplees night due to the pain.

You might have a problem if the insurer contacts the GP about previous symptoms

Not sure about the insurance if you have had problems before they may not cover a pre-exisiting condition...

I had a frozen shoulder it is not funny the pain and the inconvenience of struggling to dress really affected my life. The good news is a cortisone injection well and truly sorted it out ( 2 actually and physio) for a few weeks. What is the doc proposing as treatment ?

Always? Did you have it for more than 7 years? Did you declare the shoulder issue to them when it started?

When was the last time you either saw anyone or took medication for your shoulder?

Did you book the holiday before or after the recent symptoms flared up?

The condition has developed after a cortisone injection, so I won't have any more of those.. I'm currentlly waiting for a consultation with a surgeon to decide on the treatment, but it will most certainly be surgical.

I've been seeing doctors (NHS and private) for years, with no success.. but as I said the previous problems were nothing as life-limitating as this.

This all seems too much hassle for the amount of money we might or might not recover to be honest.. we'll probably re-schedule or lose the flights. (although I'm optimistic the pain might reduce enough to allow me to take the holiday even if I can enjoy it as much as i would).

Thanks to anyone for your help.
