Eurostar - Ticket exchange

I had a holiday in Paris and Brussels planned for Easter. Booked non refundable/exchangeable tickets for me & DD going out, same for 4 of us returning from Brussels and OH had booked tickets on points for him and DS, London- Paris; non refundable but 1 exchange allowed.

Since then OH has ruptured his Achilles tendon. In a cast, not travelling. I still intend to go to Paris with DD to see my mum.

The Brussels-London tickets are a write-off, I appreciate that.

I asked OH to trade his and DS tickets for DD and my return journey from Paris. Eurostar said "no, can't change direction of travel - tickets needs to be exhanged in the next 3 month, London Paris only". Problem is, he is very unlikely to be mobile enough in the next 3 months.

Now, I feel they are being a little harsh on us. I have now booked tickets for our return since I have to make sure I can get back.

What's my best bet for pleading with them to allow the points to be refunded or the ticket to be left open longer?

    I've been Money Tipped!
That's fine for the main tickets (although not much after excess taken in) but they can't really refund points, can they?
