I agree - this thread is ripe for merging.

My suggestion is that you write a list of what you usual buy (the food rather than the brand) and then search the Aldi / Lidl thread to see where the word pops up. Far more efficient.
What nonsense. Why merge with a thread that is more than two years old? How many of the posts are still valid? Why search when half the posts will not be labelled? Other thread contains info about Aldi foods as well.

Other supermarkets are granted multiple threads. Other topics are brought up time and again. Those who don't like repeating themselves or updating with current thoughts are free to ignore threads they are unhappy with.

    My fave stuff from Lidl:

    Cornish pasties
    Chocolate cheesecake
Lucozade (6 bottles for £3, perfect size for work lunch)
3 fish roast - frozen, delicious!
    Packs of steamed veggies.
Fresh flowers - last ages and very cheap and nice.
    Pumpkin/sunflower seeds
Dog treats (ORLANDO branded - esp the chicken sticks, £1.29 for 8, fussy dog is crazy about them)
    Milk
Cadburys Caramel bars (my fave) are always on a good offer.
Bakery goods - cheese rolls, cookies, donuts, all gorgeous and low priced.

Have a new Lidl open up not far from us a few months ago and rarely go anywhere else now. Thumbs up.

Edit to add - I must also agree that the shopper experience is pleasant, shop assistants are pleasant and helpful, queues not long, store layout very user friendly, wide aisles, good temp + lighting, friendly staff around the store always accessible.

I don't have a Lidl close by but if I am passing I like the large tubs of coleslaw and salad potatoes from Lidl. When they are on offer I buy the piri piri chicken.
