Combining a Virgin Media online deal with Refer-a-Friend

Hey
I'm thinking of signing up for Virgin Media's current online offer of 12 months half price for the Premier collection.
I know that VM have a refer-a-friend scheme where you both get £50 credit, but does anyone know if that can be redeemed while taking advantage of another deal?
Is there a field I fill out during the sign up process where I can add my friend's referring details or would they have to give me a link which I need to click through to get the deal (and therefore not be eligible to the normal online deals).
Thanks for any insight

are you the one thats being referred, ie your friend is already with virgin and referring you ?
if so, then you wont be able to sign up online the normal way as your friend will give virgin your contact details and they will contact you about the new service over the phone
you should be able to get most of the new customer offers via the phone, there are some that might be online only, but most are available over the phone as well0 -
Thanks, Cy, that's what I was guessing.
Yes my friend is already with VM and I suppose it can't hurt to see if they'll offer me the same deal over the phone. As far as I know, the 12 months half price deal ends on the 13th of April so it gives me a week of time to play with at least.
EDIT:
Actually, looking in to it, according to VM's refer-a-friend page the £50 credit only applies to the person doing the referring, where as the person joining up gets the installation fee knocked-off (49.99) which I would't be paying anyway with the online deal.
I guess I'll give it a go anyway as I might as well try and save my friend some cash0
