Alternative to Hillarys Blinds

Hi All

I need someone to come and measure up for a blind in a difficult space.

I've had a bad experience with Hillarys so am looking for an alternative but need someone to come and do the measuring rather than me.

Any suggestions appreciated!

M.

Do you have a local curtain maker? Our local one is great for exactly what you need.

How difficult can it be? You only need two measurements, width and drop. Measure it yourself and visit Ikea, might save yourself quite a lot.

    It might also look rubbish.

I second the local curtain/blind maker idea.

I dont know where you are but I do this Job for Dunelm so if you have a local store try them. Not all stores currently offer the service as its fairly new.

I'd always try a local firm. They have a reputation to maintain. If their estimate is too high then go elsewhere.

+1 for Dunelm At Home. We've just had some curtains made for a huge window (6 widths, floor to ceiling). And customer service was fab - the woman came to do the measurements, and we explained that we hadn't put the curtain pole up yet, and we didn't have the wood flooring down yet (but we could tell her where the pole would go and how thick the flooring would be). When we put them up, they were about 3 inches too long - not their fault, as we'd had to modify where the pole went.

I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd asked for more money to alter them, but not only did they do the alterations for nothing, they came and collected them too!!

great service IF you paid cheapish money, if it cost you a couple of thousand not so great.

We had a couple of patio windows fitted with Hillarys blinds recently. We could not fault the service or the price in any way
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • Looking for curtains for 5.7 metres, any idea where best to go to get these? Guessing they are going to cost me a fortune!
