Old Style Daily Thread Thursday 3rd April

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
I am exhausted. 2 more days at work then 4 days off and a total of 3 long weekends over the Easter holidays. Oh I feel like I need them!
Usual dash but will try and catch up later.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning All
Not long TTFTM! I just have today and tomorrow and then off for 2 weeks. I was so tired last night I could have cried! Anyway, a rubbish nights sleep last night should mean I sleep tonight? Doubt it!
Had salmon and stir fry veg last night, not sure what tonight's offering will be, I will have a think. Washing, etc up to date, will do the proper housework on Saturday, just gave the bathrooms a quick wipe over - the builders use the downstairs one so like to clean that each evening!
Raining again and still cold - when will it end? Hugs to all those in need, take care. XX0 -
Good Morning chums another bright day by the look of things at the moment .My DD came home from work last night chuffed to bits .her boss has given her next week off with full pay as I shall be in hospital and the boys will have broken up from school. Its a great weight off our minds that's for sure as I was worrying a little about how we would sort my absence out.Not so bad if they are at school but the break up tomorrow.he is such a decent chap her boss and he knows how hard she works and how she never complains at putting in extra hours when they are busy. She gets on really well with him and although a few months ago she was offered a higher paid job in the same field she turned it down as she is happy where she is and he is hoping that she will be his replacement when he moves up the firms ladder. Not often you get a boss as considerate as him.
I have a bit of paperwork to do this morning but no shopping at all as I have more than enough indoors.
Right time to get a wriggle on and have some breakfast
have a good day chums whatever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, very cloudy and overcast but no rain or wind, not cold though.
DH up and getting ready for work.
Dinner last night was beef stew and dumplings, mash and veg. I didn’t have time to get it going in the slow cooker first thing so I didn’t put it on to cook until 2pm – it was ok but not as good as when it cooks longer and slower – so lesson learnt! Not sure what we will be having tonight – will sort that today.
DS2 goes on his school trip later today – I’m taking him in to school this morning, stopping off on the way back to pick up some rolls etc for his pack up etc. I then need to pack his bag etc. The school have said they can have time off later before going back to catch the bus to leave. So today will be full of running around making sure he has everything he needs! I’m hoping he has a great time and it makes some great memories.
Work again yesterday wasn’t anywhere near as horrendous as it should be, although it is busy but just steadily busy. I’m now wondering if it will be awful on Monday – as the local HA have given all tenants 2 free weeks and they have been this week and last week (not really free weeks when they worked out the rent they divide it by 48 weeks not 52 – 2 free weeks at xmas and new year too!)
Friend came over for coffee and chat – her life is still in freefall but she seemed to be somewhat calmer last night – will wait to see how it pans out for her.
Today I will be trying to do all the normal chores aswell as organise DS2’s stuff for his trip – this is priority and will be done first – all his stuff is on his bed waiting to be packed into his bag – so there’s not much to do really.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, folks!
What a good boss your daughter has, Jackie. Hope all goes well.
I'm off to Audiology today. I am having a hearing test, but they are not sure whether an aid will help me. It's not volume, but lack of clarity. We'll see.

Morning all,
Dull and overcast, hope it picks up for our weekend away.
I'm back at the consultants this morning. I'm worried about my leg not improving so going back to have it checked. I was talking to a lady yesterday who had had to have an operation to remove scar tissue, really hoping that's not the case, lots of positive vibes please.
My son has his first day at work today shadowing a colleague, again hoping he does well.
It's a year today since my lovely DIL dad passed suddenly in Australia. I know its a tough day for them so my heart is full today x
Better get a wriggle on, hugs and spoons all round xxStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Someone give me a rocket up my @rse got an attack of the CBA's today
Supposed to be catching up on housework as I have barely done any this week.
Had a lovely day out yesterday with my folks who are saying down here on a mini break. Walked round Cherhill white horse and it was lovely.
Another pleasant day outside so better go hang some washing.
Kids break up for Easter today so need to plan what we are doing over next couple of weeks.
Haven't decided on tea yet, we will be child free this evening so food isn't exactly on the top of my agenda :rotfl::rotfl:
Hugs and spoons all round xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning,
Topsyturphy - Congratulations! How exciting
Julie - Hope it goes ok.
Dull day, the sun is trying to peek out. I hope some of you aren't too badly affected by the extra pollen/pollution stuff.
Not much going on today. Last day of school for me, loved turning off my 6.30 alarm this morning. Still what's the betting I'll be wide awake at that time tomorrow!
DS2 is in school later but I told him to do a couple of hours of Physics this morning, which he was doing when I came in earlier.
Pork loin for dinner tonight.
Good day all0 -
Morning all,
Millie dog got me up twice in the night and I'm knackered. Since giving the girls a haircut it was evident that the excess width that I thought was hair is not really hair at all it was fat so they are on a diet. Well those of us who have dieted in the past might have noticed, when you lose weight, you wee a lot and that I think is whats happening with the girls.
I staggered downstairs to find the note I left for hubby on the side still there.
Thursday mornings are our refuse collection days and since we have progressed out of the dark ages to having a wheelie bin hubby has been taking it up to the kerb on his way to work first thing Thursday morning. Because he's usually half asleep at 6am he asked me to write a note reminding him to take the rubbish on collection days and leave it with the flask I normally prepare for him to take to work.
Household chores complete. Just a few hanging gardens to remove and tea is being cooked as I type. We are having shepherds pie. Youngest will be happy.
So this morning I think both the men had a humour transplant. Especially my son. On the side was my note. Hubby had written on it to tell me he'd taken the rubbish up (he doesn't usually). 'Youngest' who gets up just after his Dad leaves for work and gets ready for college.... He couldn't resist adding his bit.:D
Julie I hope all goes well with the consultant. Let us know how you get on please.
Onwards and forwards,

Ask what your options are, and explain your misgivings. Good luck.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
