Groupon Refund

I bought some headphones from Groupon on 16th March as a birthday gift. The item was paid for upon completion of the order. I received an e-mail confirming my order. However, to date the item has not been delivered. I never recieved a second e-mail confirming the order had been shipped but on contacting Groupon, they have told me the item was shipped on 17th March but unfortunately it was sent by royal mail unrecorded. They suggested I contact royal mail to try and track the item down! I have looked through their Q & A and on their website to see what protection buyers have against this sort of thing but I cannot find anything. I have e-mailed them back stating I was unhappy with their response and requesting my money back. A reply is now awaited but after reading some of the comments on here about Groupon I am not expecting a response in my favour. How do I go about trying to get a refund. I have bought several items from Groupon over the years and have never before had a problem with them until now. The item was £16.99 so going through the courts will just cost me more money. What do I do? Can I complain to Trading Standards or the FSA Ombudsman? Any help would be appreciated. I am annoyed more than anything because the birthday was today!!!! Thanks
