Hi
I'm considering doing the ski in a day lesson at Xscape and it's £150 for the day (about 8 hours). Has anyone here done this course and is it any good? I have not got any ski experience and thought this might be a good start to see if I like it before embarking on a real ski holiday !!
Anyone been and can tell me if they enjoyed it / learnt to ski in the time?
I hope this is in the right place on the boards.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless you are already superfit and additinally do all your pre ski exercises over a period of several weeks, you'll be exhausted long before the 8 hours is up, so no - you won't learn to ski in a day. Dry slopes are cheaper and wider and if you can learn the basics over several lessons on one, you'll be ok for snow.
Will you like the Xscape experience? I've been ski-ing for quite a number of years and live near the Yorkshire Xscape. I wouldn't enjoy it as it would feel like ski-ing down a snowy, slippery narrow ditch. Why not go and have a look and see how other people are managing 5/6 hours into their 8 hour session.
Other people may have different experiences of Xscape......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

dh tried the Xscape learn to snowboard in a day, and i can honestly say he was shattered by lunchtime, and by the end of the day, no-one had qualified enough, to be able to use the slope freely (they expect you to be a certain standard before you are allowed on the slopes without an instructor). so he would need more lessons before he was considered safe enough to go it alone.
i suppose its a bit of an insight into skiing, but personally ive found it doesnt compare to real snowy slopes, and i also think you learn better, if you have several shorter lessons, as you dont get so tired, and disheartened0 -
Thanks for the insights, it's really helfpul. I might rethink this one.0

Virgin Experience do days out like karting, paintballing, or if you want to just relax and get pampered in a hotel then they do that too.
I bought my voucher at a bargain at this link.

Let's add Virgin Experience to the "SPAMMING WEENERS WE WOULDN'T TOUCH" list then...0
