Can I get my money back from York Council?

Hi there - I went across this bridge twice as a stranger working in York resulting in 2x £30 fines. I paid them as its a lease car as I was worried about the fine escalating. I now find out this news/ruling? What is the best course of action to try and claim my money back? Wait to see what the outcome is or be pro-active?

Or is it true once you have paid the fine is 'closed'

Sadly you have admitted the offence by paying. You could lobby the council via your councillors and with the help of www.pepipoo.com but personally I'd just accept it as a lesson in life.

If it is ruled that the council have no rights to charge you then you could have a case.

If there is a resident of York who wishes to have a go at getting these charges refunded, please pm me.

The residents of Hemel Hempstead did it.

PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.
