Advice on cash house buyer companies

Hi

Having moved in with my fiance we are desperate to offload my house and move on with our lives. It's currently under offer at £108k with £80k left to pay on the mortgage so a nice healthy profit. But the sale has stalled and we've been in this position for several months now.

From searching Google I can see there are companies that offer to buy houses for cash at 75% below market value so I could get enough to clear the mortgage in 7 days apparently. I would avoid the ones that want fees upfront.

Does anyone have any experience of these sort of companies? Is it really 7 days from me saying buy my house or is there a limbo period in the middle when they mess around and drag things out?

At this stage the time is definately more important than the money (fiance will have a nervous breakdown if the uncertainty continues anymore) but I don't want to get into the situation where I get taken for an even bigger ride by a bunch of cowboys.

Any advice would be very welcome
Thanks
Housepanic!

I know you say time is more important than money, but you would be loseing £27,000, can't you nag your solicitors to push things, or get your estate agent to push the buyers or start viewings again.

With respect, you need to tell your fiance to shut the !!!! up ! Is he going to give you the £27K you're clearly going to lose by effectively giving your house away if your relationship breaks down inside a year or two ? No, I don't suppose he will.

You are best off kicking your solicitors into action - either bin off the buyers and start showing again or give them an incentive to get a move on. Frankly, everyone knows a chump who threw away a load of money or a dream job or opportunity for . . . er . . ."love" only to find that when it all eventually went Pete Tong, the one who's not uprooted their life always seems to come off best . . .financially at any rate.

What's it to him anyway if you don't sell it straight away ?

Or you could just sit your fiance down and tell them not to worry about it and that waiting for the sale will be best for you both in the long run, often works better than shut the !!!! up;)
