As the 3% card is now dead, it's worth pointing out that the 0.5% card is available.

Having initially declined the offer to convert the 3% card to a 0.5% card, I applied for the new card and have a limit 60% higher than on the old card - £1,600 rather than £1,000.

In itself not good enough for general use but great when travelling outside the UK. I can earn up to £100 p.a. on purchases up to £20,000 p.a. so it's a no-brainer, especially as (in my mind at least), it goes towards the fee for my AmEx PRG card.

You're better off with CapitalOne. Same card, but they give you £10 a year for the privilege.

I'm sorry, but £2k annual spend will only earn you a measly tenner

You need to spend a whopping £20,000 per year to get the £100 cashback ;)

    Aaargh! Thanks.

Don't be sorry, it's better than I thought. :) But managing up to £20k spend with this limit could be a challenge.

The reason for the higher credit limit could be due to them having 'n' months of data showing you were a responsible borrower based on how you used your old Aqua card rather than because they didn't want to provide a higher limit when the cashback was 3%

Yup. Got this card for the free use abroad and as well as getting the 0.5% cashback, they give you £10 each year. Had this card for a few months and so far, they've been pleasant to deal with and the card came super fast. They also gave me a starting limit of £1200. :)

Does anyone know if I can convert my existing Aqua card (advance I think) to the reward one? Or will I have to close and re-open?
