Android Word Processor spell as you type

Hi all,

I've been looking for an Android WP that does spell checking as you type a la Word etc.

I've tried Quickoffice, King Soft and Polaris but none of them appear to handle spell checking as you type properly.

Open Office for Android looked promising but its big and heavy and crashes (also I couldn't find any way to hide the on screen keyboard).

Any suggestions,
Ta, Roy

QuickOffice seems to auto-correct for me. Or is it an actual spell checker you're looking for?

Have you tried the Play Store?

I could get Quickoffice to do that. I'll give it another try.

    What keyboard do you use?

Doesn't that spellcheck as you type?

I use the default Swype-style keyboard on my Nexus 4.

As cookie says it's within the keyboard settings that spellchecks are turned on or off.
Dependent on what tablet/phone you are using...Try something like ---
Check - Settings - Language and input - Keyboards and input methods (Then look at the settings of your chosen keyboard- via the cog).
IMO the best keyboard on the Play Store is 'SwiftKey'.

Thanks. I'm using a usb keyboard on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 - it makes text input a doddle. But you loose the spell as you type that is the onscreen keyboard thing.

My tests show that Kingsoft Office is the best for spell checking after the script is completed, but its doesn't highlight errors until you click on the Spell button. Still its not bad at all.

Open Office shows the most promise but in its present form its too big, complicated, buggy and slow. Its trying to be too close to the PC/Linux versions.

Keyboard input - in the word processors there doesn't seem to be any way to jump whole words or paras at a time, although you can here. This seems strange.

    Regards, Roy
