It is probably obvious but I cannot work it out. I want to be able to add additional recipients when replying to an email using gmail. For example I recently got an email from my sister-in-law, I wanted to reply to it and, at the same time, copy in my sister so she could read the emails, which concern a family trip.
When I click reply on my sister in laws original email, it only generates her id as the recipient and I cannot find anywhere on the reply screen to add in a cc to my sister, let alone a bcc to my husband to keep him up to speed with plans.
I can of course reply to my sil and then go back and forward it separately to my sister but this means a big waste of effort when it must be possible to do it all in one operation.
Anyone?

When I click on reply, just below the recipients name are blue bits to add CC and BCC.
Do you not get these options?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Click on reply then click in the address bar and add further recipients.
I think you get the cc and bcc option only when you are composing a new email.0 -
No. I know where you mean - on the right of the reply box next to the original senders id.
When I click on the curved arrow to the right of the incoming email header, to reply, the cc bcc options are not present on the reply box, just the id of the original sender. The rest of the line is blank.
I wonder if this is because I am by this stage replying to the latest in a series of emails?.0 -
If you click on reply then click to the right of recipient's name then type the first letter of the additional recipient you will get a drop down list of all contacts beginning with that letter, click on the one you want and it will be added into the address bar. That's how I do it anyway.0

You need to select reply first.
Then, just above where you would type your message, are the options to add CC and BCC.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

I don't get the cc and bcc displayed when replying.
Only when composing a new email.0 -
I have had another look and it is def the case that when I click on reply, I get a box with senders name and space to enter my reply but I do NOT get the cc and bcc to the right of that.
However I just had another look round the internet and found a similar query. As DollyDee indicates, with the new compose format it seems that the cc and bcc options are not displayed automatically on the reply screen when you click on the reply arrow.
This just brings up just the id of the original sender and you have to click near this in the header for it to reveal the cc and bcc options. This does work for replies too. Why it should require an additional click to display them, I have no idea. Thank you DollyDee for your tips by the way.0 -
You're welcome.
I hadn't even noticed that the cc and bcc were displayed in the address bar after clicking to the right of the recipient! That's why I just started to type the next name in. So thank you too.0
