Makes you wonder why the South would ever want us or why GB put up with us!!!

Interesting !!
And I note !!
more than the other main two combined
I wonder;
a) Why the heck would the people of the republic ever even consider a united Ireland based on these sort of figures?
b) What the rest of the UK must think of their huge subsidisation of us?
Time to swing the Axe on the Public sector and Social Security I think. People need to stand on their own two feet and pay their way a bit more !!
Interesting !!
And I note !!
The largest area of expenditure was on pensions and social security, amounting to almost £8bn, or 35%, of the £22.6bn total. .
more than the other main two combined
The other main areas were health at 16.2% and education at 12.3%.
I wonder;

The problem lies with lack of income and employment. Need to have a more business orientated attitude generally. I have seen so many projects delayed or derailed by 'box tickers'. NI has an over supply of the beasts.
And then there is the political class! Do any of them up on that hill have any constructive vision for NI? Any plan of how to grow the NI economy? Any thought of how to make this place competitive? Is there a sane energy policy? Any serious attempt to reduce peripheral waste and pointless expenditure? Tonight we had the news regarding the Police Academy in Cookstown, then there is the likes of the Maze. What about other little considerations like why Dublin Airport is booming and Aldergrove is like a graveyard on a Thursday night. Oh and someone remind me why the Enterprise zone is in Coleraine?
Perhaps the real scroungers are not the ones on benefits, but those in employment in jobs that are of no earthly benefit to man nor beast, and people who are in positions of responsibility who are of dubious worth? Why kick the poor when there are plenty of fat cats to aim a boot at![STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -

I do agree with this of course, but when you see the figures of Public Sector Pensions and Social Security, it does make you wonder........0 -

I honestly think that public sector pensions and social security will be the thing that unravels it all. It's a Ponzi, pure and simple. When the new entrants figure it out the whole thing will come crashing down.0 -
And to top it off, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-26862081Mr Robinson also claimed that failure to introduce the changes would lead to as much as £1bn being lost from Stormont's block grant over the next five years.
People, get ready for some more serious belt tightening !!!0 -
But how can we expect the poverty stricken amongst us, on dole and benefits galore, to take an income cut. Surely they shouldn't be expected to cut back on their beer, fags and foreign holidays.0

At the risk if sounding silly, what's this enterprise zone?0
