Catch All E-Mail Address

I'm setting up a website and want to put a different email address on the different adverts that I'm going to use so that I can see what works. I have a general email (contact@xxxx.com) which I have set to be a catch all email address. Does anyone know if there's a limit on how many email addresses this will catch or will it catch anything that has my suffix (the @xxx.com part) but that currently does not have a mailbox of it's own?

It will catch anything that is not sent to an email address you have set up. Try it!
If your intention is to have the advert emails sent into the catch all account, I'd probably do it slightly differently as you may get a lot of rubbish at the catch all and then you'd have to filter through it to find the real emails. I would have the advert emails forwarded to another email address; it only takes about 5 seconds to set up a forwarder.0 -
As above, a catch all catches absolutely everything that isnt sent to an address that isnt a specified mailbox or forward.
It is useful but if your email address will be "out there" then expect mountains of junk mail. I have a catch all on 2 domains and get about 10,000 pieces of junk mail a day typically sent to the likes of d315b0e9@mydomain.com
Personally I find its worth it as almost all gets trapped by my mail filters but it is a pain to have to go through it all when someone says they sent you something and you havent seen it (and worse will be those that sent something but never chase you).
A forwarder or a new mailbox can be better but some hosts limit the number of these you can have0
