How to clean vintage satin eiderdown?

Anyone have any idea how I can clean a vintage satin eiderdown? It was kindly gifted to me, and is lovely, but there are some surface stains that need to be dealt with.

It will need specialist care if done professionally as vintage satin can easily tear or deteriorate in other ways.

It might be possible to hand wash it in tepid water & using a mild detergent, but before I risked this I'd do a google search & see what suggestions are thrown up. There are bound to be plenty of answers out there.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
