Greenhouse transport

Good Evening All,

I have been offered a free greenhouse 6ft by 8ft and I need some advice on moving it.

What size vehicle will I need? It is a standard greenhouse (if there ever was one) I know that it will dismantle into the metal pieces and the glass, but I wonder if I really need to get a van for it or can the parts fit in a car? If so, in general what size car would be best?

6 foot (1.82 meters) should fit in a medium sized car it does in my Honda civic. I am doing same as you this weekend. If its 8 foot might need a estate. Or get man in a van on local facebook pages wont cots much more than £30 if its local

I picked up a greeen house locally. I took out glass from roof, however left glass intact in sides and dimantled into four peices.

I called around a number of glazing companies and was able to (for around £50 IIRC) make use of a van and driver with side holding frame - the one normally used to move patio doors / conservatories.

We were therefore able to take the intact greenhouse home without needing to fully dismantle.

The one in my garden was moved in a Vauxhall frontera, my other one was moved in a Mazda 6 and toyota something or other
