Car, area and age would help but as you have no NCD then £852 sounds within the ball parkThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I am driving a 3 year old sports car fully comp with protected no claims for £250 a year.
Postcode, garaged, low mileage, occupation, age, excess, all have an effect on premium.
Use this guide to help you get it lower

Assuming you passed your test at a typical sort of age of around 18 then quote sounds okay with you being early twenties.
Try though adding a second driver, I've found it can literally bring the total price down.0 -
70% NCD turns £852 policy to a £256 policy which is in the ball park for many of us on here.
We are roughly £130 on the Panda and £240 on the Jeep both over 50 no accidents and no points (first time in years for that to be the case.....lol).0 -

Other than there is probably an introductory discount already applied to the OP as someone with an established history but no NCD.
That said, it still isnt a bad price considering no NCD even if the above calculation is slightly off.
The only other consideration is that some insurers will give you credit for time whilst covered by a company scheme in which case check with them if you can get the time under the trade policy as effectively company car insurance.0 -
I've been driving for 6 years. I lost my no claims the year before last due to an accident, so I also have a fault claim. Last year it cost me roughly £800 to insure on my own comprehensive policy on a N/A diesel, so quite a slow vehicle. This year it's significantly cheaper thanks to my 1 year NCD.
NCD does make a huge difference I'm afraid.0 -
Have you told your new insurance company that you've been driving on a company policy for the last four years without (presumably) any claims? Sometimes insurance companies will take this into account, and might ask the business to provide a letter to confirm that you haven't had any accidents while on their policy.0
