I think that joining you will help me no end - We have a car loan (although I don't know what we currently owe) and two mortgages - of around 75k.

I am trying to overpay the car loan (£185/month) and was infuriated that last month I sent £1,000 and it took them three weeks to send back a letter saying 'what do you want to do with this cheque you've sent us' - well, it was in the letter accompanying it! Pay it off the account of course (interestingly they MUST have had the letter to know who to ask, but say there was no letter with the cheque!) - anyway, they took the monthly damned payment out of it rather than by d/d - so I didn't pay off £1,000 because they didn't pay it off as an extra, so it was closer to £800.

Santander.

Is it always this hard?

Well, it's around £6,500 - and I'd like to pay it all off to free up the money to pay off the mortgage.

So, I save it into a savings account until I have enough to send - today please put me down for

£5
