AEG washer dryer - error code E20

Hi,
I have a 9 month old built-in AEG washer dryer. It stopped mid cycle the other day. I emptied the contents (clothes) and ran a 95c cycle with soda crystals last night. It ran and drained fine. I put in clothes this morning. It again stopped mid cycle. This time it flashed error code E20. I looked up online, error code E20 relates to draining problems

My machine is still under warranty. Shall I call AEG ? Or could it be my fault (sock blocking something or hair etc somewhere? ) shall I call a local washing machine repair guy?

Can I sort the problem with DIY? If its something simple, I want to try it first to save some money. I'm a woman with two left hands, pls bear this in mind when you tell me DIY :)

For DIY route, can some wise soul here give me instructions?

Check the drain pipe isn't kinked round the back - I had this problem with my dishwasher. It took five years for it to clog up and prevent the machine from draining!

Has the filter been cleared recently as that can often be the problem.

This. The filter gets blocked with fluff (especially if you dry a lot). Clear that and the code usually clears too. You'll need to check that filter every couple of weeks.

    Thanks everyone.

There was a rubberband holding up the pump impeller (?) from rotating. Removed that and it's working fine now.

However, I noticed water dripping (like 1 drop every 5 seconds) from EITHER side of the washing machine front bottom edges. This was AFTER I drained out all the water with the emergency drain and after clearing out the pump.

I ran the machine on a dry cycle for like 15-20 mins and it seems to have sorted the problem. I am still worried sick about why this happened.

Shall I run it on wash cycle and see if it happens again?

No; you have been messing around with the machine and that probably explains it. Just keep an eye on it, it should be fine.
