Car Insurance Start Time Problem

I have a problem, I am buying new car insurance as my old policy finishes at 12PM (Lunchtime), however when I went on the comparison websites and chose the start date of my new policy, the site would only start the policy at 00.00 (midnight)! Therefore I will either be double insured for 12 hours (which I was told wasn't allowed) or have a gap in cover for 12 hours (with no driving, obviously). I can't phone the insurers as they closed at 8pm and I didnt get home until that time....can anyone help????

Have you tried calling your insurance company of choice and asking them if they can arrange this?0

Nonsense. It is allowed, you just can't claim on both if you have an accident. Do either, if you can get away with not using the car for 12 hours and have a driveway or whatever do that.0 -

You CAN have two polices on the same car but you CAN'T use the same NCD on more than one policy at a time, which is what would happen in this example.
I'd suggest contacting the new insurer by phone to discuss it.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Technically you may well have to with both insurers contributing 50% of the losses but both registering a claim against you which could cause future issues when people check CUE because co-insurance is not the norm for personal lines cover0
