Garage quoting double for egr valve

I have had a nightmare and don't know what to do. EGR valve went on Renault. £400 ish. They messed about as thinking it was something else (ordered a diff part it wasn't that)but then informed me they had failed to notice a further set of parts that needed adding to my particular model/make's EGR valve set. 2 1/2 weeks later nearly and they rang me up today saying it was ready and it would be an additional £470 !!! I feel powerless. I rang another same dealer garage who quoted me the first price also with know my car details. they are inept and say they wont charge me for 2nd lot of labour (they shouldn't have been a 2nd lot. Not sure if I have any leg to stand on but absolutely gutted. if I had known in was a £1000 job I would have shopped around...any ideas anyone I have contacted Head office who will not reimburse as no part is faulty though to me their service standard is.

Did you agree to the extra work? They shouldve told you it was chargeable. If you didnt agree to the extra work/cost you shouldnt have to pay it only the original quote. Please tell me you got the original quote written down?
