Thanks phoebe1989seb this is a great post! I have split it into manageable chunks below :)

Glad you got yours all done and sounds like you're very happy with it. The kitchen sounds amazing, do you have a thread anywhere with pics?

Thanks to everyone, sorry if I have missed your post!

    Hi BlueC,

Sorry only just caught up with this thread :o No, I don't have a thread on here with pics, but will try to remember to post a couple here when I get a moment ;)

Hope the planning continues to progress.......

Your arrangement around the chimney breast looks lovely - we didn't have as much space, bur managed to squeeze a range cooker in there.

We've got shallow cupboards in front of the chimney breast returns which are kitted out with spiceracks so are perfect for having everything to hand for cooking.
The microwave was to be hidden in a tall larder cupboard as I too hate them on the work top, but we decided we didn't need one after all.
Make sure you've got enough space to open the dishwasher and the drawers opposite - especially if you intend using them for plates etc.
Had you thought of having a breakfast bar extension on the island - it's nice to have somewhere to sit and chat whist cooking.
We have a Le Mans unit in the same position as yours - remember it needs a small fillet to allow the door to open to 90degrees, but they make good use of what would otherwise become a glory hole!
The other indulgence we went for was a Quooker boiling water tap - I love it!
