My wife is wanting to write some kindle books to sell, she is a shy person and doesn't really want to use her own name, so she wants to write under a pen name, is this allowed? Also will her real name ever be revealed so people can see it.
What about Tax, amazon mention about US Tax, but cant find anything about UK tax.
Any thoughts please, and any other information would be appreciated.

Is your wife already paying tax in a PAYE job?
If she is earning money by writing Kindle books, then strictly that is income and she should be paying the appropriate amount of income tax on it. Having said that, it does depend a bit on how much money it is - if it is only a few pounds over the year, they aren't likely to want to be bothered with it, if it is a few hundred pounds they are more likely to be.
I'm not an accountant, but my understanding is that if she is already paying PAYE tax and she wants to declare a small amount of extra income, the easiest way is probably to declare it as casual earnings on a tax return.

She can use any name she likes, but any income derived will need to be declared in the UK, if that's where she's domiciled. No free lunch, and no free laptop
