Penetrating damp in downstairs bathroom

Hi all. We had penetrating damp in the downstairs bathroom,(single brick flat roof in terrace. It was the end wall in corner) and it was caused by the shed being too close to the wall, rainwater was simply running straight down the wall and the pointing was all shot. This has been repointed today, and the shed moved away from the wall to avoid a repeat performance, I am wondering how long can I expect it to take for the wall to dry out completely? And is it best to leave the window open and have natural ventilation or run a dehumidifier? Thanks in advance.
