We've recently filled out the contact form provided through MSE and have just received a call from British Gas.
After answering all the questions we were assured that if all info was accurate we would qualify for the deal :T
Astounded to find out the first available survey is 9th January 2015!!
Anyone had any joy getting an appointment this year?!!

British Gas appear to assume that any house built after around 1987 has cavity wall insulation so they won't do it.
At least that was my experience a few months ago, and filling in the online form the same appears to be true.Questions are a burden to others; answers a prison for oneself0 -
My survey isnt until the middle of May.
although reading some of the horror stories on the home&DIY boards, not sure i should get it done!0 -
Got my appointment 23rd June 2014. About time working people not on benefits can get a little help two when it comes to saving energy.:D0

I got told something slightly different, they apparently won't do cavity wall insulation on houses built after 1983, due to changes in building regs. They claim this is a health and safety issue.0 -
I rang them today and was also told that because my house was built after 1983 that it was probably already insulated and that because of building regs they wouldn't be able to get the funding to do it.
We went on to talk about loft insulation and they wanted me to confirm if the insulation I've already got is less than 100mm thick. I told them I didn't know and thought that was what the survey was for but they were adamant - they want me to go in the loft and measure how thick it is. That's not what it says on the website!
Was anyone else asked to do this?0
