Act of kindness equals Asda Parking fine. HELP!

You'll likely get the usual threatograms and then it'll die away. If they do pursue court action (highly unlikely) then your story would be a newspaper's dream.
ASDA will likely cancel the ticket anyway, especially if you explain the extenuating circumstances - they too wouldn't want such negative publicity.

No, I got my PPC ticket at Yorkgate/Cityside in Belfast. I do use the Asda in Larne sometimes, they do have PPC signs there but I've never seen one of the PPC leeches in the car park.
By now you should be realising that the whole Private Parking industry is one big scam. You haven't received a fine, you have got a speculative invoice from a parking company that hopes you'll be scared into paying it, like (sadly) about 60-70% of people do.
The parking company are only interested in separating you from money and could not care less about what good deeds you did or how bad the weather was. They will reject your appeal, no matter what. In N.Ireland there is no independent appeals body, so you have no other choice than to ignore.
You will get further increasingly threatening letters followed by increasingly desperate letters in their last ditch attempt to screw money out of you - IGNORE EVERYTHING! They will eventually realise you're not a sucker and will give up.
I realise this isn't the tidy ending you wanted to this affair, but I'm afraid that is the real world. Don't worry about this affecting your credit rating (there is no debt in the first place) or the possibility of being taken to court - that simply doesn't happen in NI.
Come back here or PM me if you need more assurance. So, in summary, complain loudly to Asda store manager (not the duty manager) and IGNORE the PPC.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
