Avoiding commission

Options
Top tip!

I let my flat through https://www.mydesres.com which is free. You can also sell your house there privately and avoid any commission. Not sure how they make their money mind.

Apparently even if you are with an estate agent under sole agency, if the buyer is introduced to you privately you pay them nothing....

  • The site charges £99.99 for a six month advert and £39.99 for rentals. I agree this may be worth a try.
Careful about the avoidance of sole agency fees since this is a de facto agent and the whole reason it is cheaper to appoint a sole agent is in exchange for ring fencing the marketing of your property. Ok if you sellthrough the site, but if you get a sale through your estate agent while you are advertising on the site, they have the right to charge you their multiagent fee, if this is higher, as that is precisely the situation you have created.
