My family have given me £380 to buy a new laptop for a new job.
My job will require me to have microsoft office (word/powerpoint/excel).
I have been looking into laptops and have found this one;

Which looks to be quite a good deal.

Or this one

But i've never heard of the make.
Help!
It's a bit of a minefield and after a bad experience buying a laptop before i want to make sure i spend this money wisely.

Forgot to add that i can probably put a bit towards it if need be (£20-£40) and that i would rather not go for a toshiba due to previous problems...

    Forget about the Advent.

    What happened to the Toshiba?
  • It died a sudden unexplained and unexpected death after 13 months :(
    Why not the advent? are they a rubbish brand?

    what type of death - out of warranty doesn't stop you claiming under the sale of goods act, assuming it wasn't mistreated.
