Shall i cancel my holiday?

I need some advice really. I have booked a holiday with Thomson in February this year for 2 adults & 1 child to the Costa Brava on September 18th 2007 from Birmingham.

However after booking the holiday we found out my partner was pregnant. She will be 32 weeks and 4 days when she returns from holiday. So we have to pay for travel insurance that is very expensive for her.

We are getting sick of Spain and would really like to try somewhere different like Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece or anywhere other than Spain.

I have read Thomson’s terms and conditions and can’t really understand them. Do you think it would be better for me to cancel and ask for my money back and then use a discount code and pay a bit extra and book a new holiday.

Or should I ring them and explain the situation and see what they can do for me.. this will probably be my last holidays for a few years cause money will be tight with a new baby.

Please help and give me some advice.

How much have you paid out for the holiday so far?

Please confirm that you have not bought any travel insurance yet?

You should get travel insurance when you book.
If something happens (like death of one of the party) and you haven't got insurance then you won't be insured.

What are the costs for cancelling the holiday.
It should be in the terms and conditions and usually increases as you get closer to the time (as the chances of reselling are less).
Usually it's quite expensive (say 50% of the cost) to cahnge you mind so I think you need to investigate the costs before deciding to change your mind,
