Anyone know anything about Emma Bridgewater?

Hiya,

Sorry if this is not right section but could not see where to put it

I have a bit of a random question I was hoping someone can assist me with?

My Grandparents have some Emma Bridgewater Polka Dot Tea items - teapot/ 1/2 pint mugs etc that they are looking to sell due to them moving to a smaller property

They are still boxed and in new condition.

I dont want any advice re: pricing but wanted to check as they have a 25 year stamp on the bottom and are initialled on them whether they are collector editions?

My knowledge of Emma Bridgewater is not too great I am afraid
Just if they are worth more due to them being collectors items don't want them to be short changed as in there 80s and tried google but not really found anything

Can then decide how to proceed Ebay etc
Many thanks

Anything that is still being made will have a limited 2 nd hand market and I don't whether the anniversary mark will make a great deal of difference. It might be worth looking at standard sales on eBay, there have been quite a few, and then on the next free listing list them at a slight premium and mention the back stamp. It is still a popular brand and the polka dots seem to sell quite well as long as they are priced realistically .

I know you don't want a valuation, but as we are not talking a great deal of money here it will be worth doing your calculations very carefully . After all the fees and the inordinate amount for packing required it might be worth taking a lesser amount via a local small ad, or even keeping them.

Hi. I know an awful lot about EB pottery. Bought and sold about £50k worth over the years. It finds its market. If the shape is no longer made it is more valuable- even if the design is made. The tiny polka teasets do well.

Offer overseas postage- japan, netherlands and USA are strongest markets.

All EB is initialled. The painter or lithographer initials with paint or a litho sticker.

Polka is a mass range but if you have an item no longer made it will be worth more.

It doesn't sell anything like as well as it did even 3 years ago.
