I bow to your superior knowledge - I did not realise that if someone was claiming CA and they lived alone then the DLA alone wouldn't make them eligible for the one bed rate.

Seems a strange rule.

Apologies to the OP and fingers crossed that you get the 13 week protection.

Perhaps the OP could apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment if he isn't entitled to the full rent under the 13 week rule.

If the OP is in a fixed tenancy period and couldn't move out, would that meet one of the criteria for being granted a DHP?

Just to add, if you are over 25 and have spent 6 months (in total, not necessarily consecutive) in supported accommodation, you would get the single room rate. Supported accommodation is loosely defined, so may include homeless hostels.

I know it doesn't apply in this case, but it may in another.
