Water pump - failed after 2 years

Would I have any rights under the sale of goods act, for a failed water pump on a car, after only 2 years about 14k miles?
The standard lifetime for this part, should be around 60k miles, at least.
The water pump was changed along with the cam belt, it had a 12 month / 12k mile warranty, which I have exceeded, but these parts still should not have failed so soon.

You may have some rights, you would need to demonstrate why it failed though and not just that it has failed.
Have you actually spoken to the garage that fitted it yet?0 -
I didn't take it back to the garage that fitted it, basically because I don't want to take it back to a place that in my opinion has failed already.
I am getting my car back today, and the reason the water pump has failed is because the internal seals have gone. It has been explained to me, that this is more than likely caused by either a poor quality part, or poor fitting.
Either way, the part itself should not fail so soon.0 -
Since you didn't give the first garage the opportunity to address the problem and possibly put things right, I fear you may need to put this episode down to experience.0

Ye as above, you've had the work done already so they cannot be given the opportunity to remedy it now so not much come back here0
