Old Style Daily Thread Tuesday 1st April

Time_to_face_the_music

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Usual dash plus 1st of the month so checking DDs out of bank etc. Looks bad so the council tax and water are back after the 2 month break.
Something with chicken for dinner but not idea what yet, I think there are peppers that need using up, so possibly a stir fry.
Must get back to decluttering and ebaying, someone give me a kick up the backside please
On positive side, checked my sistercas fund, aka £2 piggybank last night and have £108 saved so far :j
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning All
April already? Doesn't seem a week since I was complaining that January seemed to be about 3 months long!
Raining here, good job the washing fairly up to date, even though it wasn't warm and sunny here there was a lovely (cold) wind so everything not nailed down got washed including the blankets that live in the car.
Toad in the hole for DD last night, I just had the sausages and some stir fried cabbage. Cooked a piece of ham yesterday I got in Ald!, I prefer it for salads/sandwiches than the sliced pre-packed ham. Not sure what is on tonight's menu but it's salads for lunch.
I can see a difference in the roof now, the dormer window is nearly finished then they can get on with the main roof. Hopefully by the end of the week it will be nearly done.
Hugs to all.
Watch out for those jokers! Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, wet underfoot very cloudy and overcast but no rain or wind.
DH up and getting ready for work.
Dinner last night was the chicken with leeks in a cream sauce with jacket potato and veg for DH and myself (this is the meal I’d organised for Friday night whilst we were away but we then didn’t get chance to eat it!). The boys had chicken dippers, jacket potato, veg/beans. Tonight we’ll be having egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, beans, toast – have some bits that need using up – so this will clear those up nicely.
Work yesterday was busy but not horrendous at all – so now we know that today is going to be awful as so many people will be coming in. We can only do our best so I’m keeping that in mind! Even my boss said yesterday afternoon – we are so going to pay for this – as it was so quiet for the start of the council tax/financial year!
Looks like I’ve managed to start sorting the issue I have floating in the back of my mind – and I’m very pleased with the progress I made yesterday after getting home from work – within this next 1-2 weeks it should be sorted.
Keep safe and well x

Hi everyone,
DD is off to Venezuela today with work so I will be a bit antsy till she gets back as the situation over there is a bit volatile. I'm sure she'll be ok and I've told her to text me very day.
I made the muslin for the bodice of the top I want to make and then had to do a tricky adjustment for my big boobs, but I'm quite pleased with the way it's come out, although I think I need to lengthen it a tad, I'll decide this morning.
Off to the dentist for a check up but there are a couple of issues I need looking at. Apart from that I shall have a quiet day.

Morning all,
snoozer positive vibes for DD
It's wet here but hadn't planned to go anywhere today. It's my lovely nieces birthday in Australia she's 15 today.
So I've tidied round and pulled some mince out. I'm going to do cottage pie tonight and veg, according to the news I need to pack in as many veg as possible.
Feeling much better as I slept really well, only waking once which is fab for me.
According to my scales I've lost another few pounds, we shall see on Thursday. I must also phone my cousin today, which I've been doing all week.
Hubby is busy at the mo which is good.
Going to get my exercises done, and have my breakfast.
Have a great day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Got a lamb stew out of the freezer last night, but don't know if I'll have it yet.
Cat's on the bed asleep, he should be out in the sun:o
Snoozer I'm sure DD will be fine, but doesn't stop you worrying! My great-grandma used to say "Children, arm aching when they are little, heartaching when they grow up" so true.
Have a great day allI Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning all,
a beautiful sunny day here. A quiet day in for me (I hope). I think I am going to tackle the office today. Although I did most of the spring cleaning on Sunday I didn't do the office. The office is the most neglected room in the whole house due to the stuff that's crammed into it. Its a small box sized room really with two pc desks (one for me and one for hubby). Ive got a 5 tier draw and the air con unit shoved up a corner. Theres that much in here its hard to clean. I think I am going to pull everything that I can out into the hall to clean under and behind things.
NPM. Hope all goes well for you today. Thinking of you.
Onwards and forwards!

Morning All.
Dry and warm(ish) here today. Work until 5pm and then having a roast for tea. Brought brisket for a change at the farmers market Saturday so have popped that in the slow cooker before I left the house, hoping it should fall to pieces by the time we eat at 7pm! Will do veg, yorkies and roasties when I get home.
Left over chicken chausseur for my lunch today, OH has had ham & cheese sarnies and his usual extras.
Finished my scarf last night so was really pleased with myself, it's nice and warm (wrong time of year really :rotfl:) but thinking these will make nice presents for people in winter/chirstmas!
TTFTM - I am the same, I have a stack of stuff I need to get on eBay, we will have to kick each other along
My eczema has started to flare up again which is very annoying, think it might be my body wash and also my deodrant - OH woke me at 2.30am as I was scratching to hard it woke him and he told me to put some cream on (he is a good oneas this did help!!)
Snoozer - I am sure DD will be fine but I understand from my parents that we never stop being our parents babies and you will always worry about us! ((hugs))
Off for now, have a lovely day everyone.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Had a busy three days making the most of the weather so I was in the garden most of the time pottering about in the greenhouse.
DH and DS moved the small shed to the back of the garden so they can start building the wood store and coal shed this weekend.
Misty and murky today though
Just a call from the hospital diabetic clinic to see a nurse and a dietician, I declined the dietician because I will never go on a diet again.....ever.
What really annoys me is that they treat weight gain as a cause not a symptom of diabetes. I told three different doctors that I had a 3 stone weight gain in less than a month and they just looked at me as if I had two heads or that I was lying about it  Turns out I had become insulin resistant
The hospital was ok about it so I will see what happens with the nurse.
I am going to get dinner on in a little while because DH is going swimming straight after work and I don't want to be cooking at 9.30pm
