Help needed _Faulty item cannot be returned on Sat

Hi All,

I have ordered a New air purifier in Amazon Market place, but the machine came in wrong (cheaper) model and used condition.

It has been a long story--- the seller first alleged the machine to be a 'refurbished' one, how ever after checking with manufacturer, it turned out to be a second-hand one... I did want to ask for compensation but It has been back and forth taking lots of time and now I just want to return for a full refund.

The seller told me that they can do a return. However the only service they use can only collect on weekdays.

I am working full time and not at home on weekdays. I pointed out that 1) I won't be at home in weekdays;
2) It's their fault and they should accommodate the customer's needs
3) there is Saturday collection service from other company, which is just £10 more than the one they use.

But the seller still refuse to use Saturday collection service, which make me unable to return this good.

I checked with Amazon and sadly it cannot help with this case. They can only communicate with the seller on my behalf, but not sure if that works.

Appreciate if anyone could help with this, Thank you!

    Ask to have it collected from your work? Ask a friend/family member if they can sit in yours to have it collected? Ask a neighbour/friend/relative if you can have it collected from their address?

    Not always possible I know, just making a few suggestions.

    Alternatively, ask them to send you a prepaid returns label and drop it off at the post office.

    Just to add to unholyangel's suggestions, can you get a number for the courier firm and speak to them directly to possibly arrange a Saturday collection?

    If they don't do a Saturday collection I'd assume they don't do Saturday delivery either so you must have had somebody in to accept the delivery, can't you ask the same person to be there for collection?
