Cheaper to fill the bath using the electric shower?

Might be a dumb question that has been asked before, my DD for gas has just shot up to £62 per month (for a 2 bed house, heating on 2 hours in morn, 4 hours at nite, hoping not to need that for much longer now its spring). We do have a bath every night and just wondered if anyone would know if it is cheaper to run a bath normally using the hot water from the gas combi boiler (worcester 7 years old) or to use the electric shower that is over the bath (3 years old)......any thoughts? I don't mind waiting a little longer for the shower.

Would be significantly more expensive to use an electric heater like a shower at 13p per kWh than to use an instant heat gas heater like a gas combi at 4p per kWh, not withstanding the fact that the electric heater might be slightly more efficient at converting energy to heat.

Why not have showers instead of baths?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

As above: gas is about a third of the cost of standard rate electricity per kWh. If electricity were cheaper, then everyone would have an electric boiler, not gas.
The reason that your gas DD has shot up is probably due to previous underestimated readings, and now a large catch up bill has arrived, with a consequent hike in the DD. Submitting regular reads will prevent this happening in future.
