Court summons CEL

Hi, i have read the faq sticky and many of the hyper links and used the search function for similar scenario. But i need some confirmation or opinion on my defense.
I bought a 2 hour ticket but unwittingly entered my reg wrong by 1 letter. I returned within the time limit. I did have the ticket to prove it but as i'd read on the internet to just ignore them it has been lost, god knows where. Surely they must have proof that i did not pay but equally that a ticket for that mistaken reg was paid near the time my vehicle entered the car park? and there is no loss of anything? How do i get them to provide evidence or can't i? Should i just abandon that route of defense?

It was over 9 months ago. I'm unemployed and totally skint i can't even afford to run the car in question anymore. The date of service was the 21st of March. So i'm getting a bit strapped for time. I tried to go to the citizens advice bureau but they just said 'read our information on the website on private parking'

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated, thanks

You must log in and select defend claim, this buys time.

    Is this the Co_op ?

As has been said you need to acknowledge service, this gives you another 14 days (so 28 days from the date of the claim form) to prepare your defence.

In the Newbies sticky thread there is a link to a good e-book by ParkingPrankster on building a good defence. It costs a couple of quid but it really is worth it.

What do you mean 'they are not open now' - you mean that Co-op has shut? Makes no difference - this is the Co-op's issue. Email the Head Office or the name of the person other people have emailed who has paid these off recently. Loads of thread like this - one was paid off by the Co-op last week I recall.

Also acknowledge the claim and read the NEWBIES thread post #5 'small claims' links & info which will tell you about what happens, the forms, and the defence. The Co-op should pay this anyway but you must make sure you are ready to submit your defence in April & have acknowledged the court papers.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
