Sudden death and illness insurance

Options
When I got mortgage, the broker who sold to me also arranged sudden death and illness insurance through a separate firm, I was never quite sure I needed it or what exactly it was fo and in the end cancelled it. Can I reclaim this as miss sold ppi?

You can't reclaim it as mis-sold PPI because it is NOT PPI. PPI covers unemployment, not death and critical illness.
You can't get a refund simply because you didn't die or get ill.
Why did you cancel the insurance?

You could only realistically say you never needed the insurance if you are immortal and immune to illness.
Can you honestly say you don't know what illness and death insurance is for?

What makes you think it is PPI?
Even if it is, what would your mis-sale reasons be?

Was this before 2005? (most brokers were not regulated before 2005 so they dont have to consider complaints relating to those sales)

    Yes before 2005,
Forget it then. Even if you had a valid complaint (which you don't appear to) the Broker wouldn't have been regulated and can reject on that basis alone. You have no access to the Ombudsman.
