    we have found this on many holidays, even in the carribean.
    I suppose it would make people eat quicker so clearing the food halls sooner.
    When you think about it, no matter hot you serve food, even in a ban marrie thing it doesn't take long to cool down.
    Perhaps it's a british thing that we like our food hot too!

    The reason for the 63DegC minimum mentioned above is that bacteria generally cannot survive obove 60. The optimum temperature for bacteria growth is 38DegC.

    Even in restaurants abroad, you rarely get piping hot food. In Greece it seems to be the norm, if not preferable to eat warm food, rather than piping hot, I asked once and was told the locals prefer it that way, as it tastes better, especially the stews like stifado etc.


    Think it is british culture more that every thing has to be molten hot. Never had any food illness issues on our holidays.
