Window Lock advice please - cannot open windows

I have two windows in my house that are locked and I cannot open. One is a bathroom window and the other a small kitchen window

I can put the key in and turn - but nothing happens - the black button wont depress and it still is locked

Any help mucho appreciated

are all the windows in your house from the same maker? We have 2 different locks, some keys only turn then the handle can be turned, the others need the button depressed. Try WD40 in the lock. Good luck

I had the same problem with my bathroom window but WD40 sorted it easily.

Thanks folks, a good blast of WD40 worked a treat - I really though the locks were damaged internally forever!
