Debt Release Direct - Fee Reclaim - service not used???

Hi
A few years ago I was in serious debt due to a number of reasons and sought help from a debt management company to negotiate payments with my creditors.
I paid a fee of over £2.5K to get this set-up before I lost my job and couldn't afford to make the payments.
Fortunately, my circumstances have improved, but it still annoys me that I paid a wopping fee for the debt management company to basically no very little in my favour - probably 8 letters to creditors. The agreements were never formal.
Is there any way I can reclaim this money on the basis of unproportional fees or any other basis?
I'm assuming not, but can't harm to ask the forum..................
Many thanks in advance.

I doubt it, however, do you have any actual documentation of the company and what they actually achieved for this fee?
Might be worth a snotty letter with an implied threat to go to the OFT, FCA and anyone else who might listen.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

:eek::eek: Holy moley, Two and a half grand !!!!!!!!
I would definitely do as advised above, cause that amount of money as a "fee" is insane. I know what its like when your desperate but this is blatant extortion in my opinion !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
