Council PCN - Visitor's day permits

Couldn't find anything in the stickys for this...
I recently filled out 3 visitor’s day permits for my car supposedly for the Monday - Wednesday, however I'd inadvertently filled them in for the Sunday - Tuesday, so then of course got a PCN for the Wednesday. Sunday does not require a permit.
I have appealed on the basis that I had filled in the correct number of tickets but had got the dates wrong, this could be seen from the fact that I’d completed a pass for the Sunday & they have photos of the passes, but they have rejected it.
Do I have any leeway on this? I realise of course that my car was parked on the Wednesday without a permit, but I’d hoped that they’d see that the correct number of permits had been filled in.
