Hi I have recently had a little knock with my car. In feb 2014. The third party hasn’t claimed against me yet and I don’t think he’s likely too. The insurance firm called me to verify details through the DVLA to which the date of my licence held and SP50 were wrong but not by a massive margin. They changed the policy on 19th march to reflect the date and charged me £53.28 for the cost of it! I have disputed this as the policy is due run out today on 31 march! I am refusing to pay it as I believe the charge is excessive for the period time the policy lasts.

They are threatening to send debt collectors round. Also I have contacted them 3 times twice by email and not bothered to respond.

Can you help me? Do you think I am in the right to fight it?

You look to have given false info on your original application.

Now they have discovered this they are (correctly) wanting the correct premium for the whole year.

You also will be (correctly) getting charged an admin fee because of this.

Your grounds for fighting it aren't strong!

They will chase you for the money as threatened.
