Dodgy Pension Trustee

Also what would happen if the IFA retires/changes career? If the insurer at the time of the event isn't liable then presumably nobody is?
Liability doesn't lie with the insurer - it is the IFA who is liable for their advice. The insurer just agrees to indemnify them on a claims-made basis.
Liability of an IFA lasts until the grave, so a retired IFA should have "Run-off" insurance to cover claims made against the historical advice given when they were working.
I think IFAs can use limited liability structures to avoid personal liability but I'm not 100% on this. If they did, the liability would remain with the company/partnership/whatever.0 -

Yes they can. its the self employed/partnership that suffers to the grave.
Once liability ends, the FSCS kicks in.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Mr Harris is registered with the Law Society but not as being at AC management, but at another company, can't go into to much detail at present for legal reasons.
The Financial Advisor's in this matter "Designed 4 Life" had a registered address in the same building as Green footprint Investments. I never had any contact from these people either by mail, telephone or any other method. They now seem to have "evaporated" but a company with the same name trades in Hampshire, not sure if it is the same boys but they do look legit???
I have now instructed another company to transfer my pension away from AC fiddlement, I mean management, see how they get on, assuming the paperwork doesn't get lost!!0 -
I have also been dicket by this !!!! but he has 4 months to get his finger out as i will be visiting my father in wales just 15mins from the ac managment office and i will camp out if needed and i will show him personaly how !!!!ed i am at his scam, solicitor?? what a joke but he will need on by the time i am finished with him:mad:0

Mr Harris has been reported to everybody you could report him to, including Action Fraud who are looking into the matter and the TV show "Rogue Traders" who are again are showing interest.
There are obviously dodgy dealings going on between Howard Davies from Green Footprint Investments, Eco Quest, Mark Harris from AC Management and Administration Ltd and possibly a company called Bennett Brookes who occupy the same building as Green Foootprint and have an office in Macclesfield which coincidently is the same address as a company called Taurus Trading who just happen to own Green Footprint.
Round and round we go!
Have you not tired to get the press involved int his?> After all, if the police have been involved and according toe the aove recent reports he is still engaging in fraud, surely there would be some action?
All those of you wo have lost money should be onto the broadsheets and the Watchdogs etc.
Whining here isn't going to get you what you want.0 -
I repeat what I said earlier.
What I don't understand is how Mark Harris continues to get away with this? Surely he should have been arrested and charged with fraud by now?0 -
Hi all,
Just found this post. The same happened to me. I transferred ~£20k a couple of years ago. They have not contacted me since (no annual statement) and any attempt to contact them has been thwarted. Please can someone help with the best steps to try to transfer my pension away from them?
Any advice much appreciated.0 -
We need to get together on this and coordinate action against Mark Harris.0

In the new year I am going to sort this out one way or another. Shouldn't have to spend time doing this if Mark Harris was a legitimate trustee, but I will have letters ready to send all over the place.0
-
If he doesn't send me a statement when it's due this spring or respond to communications I will send letters about Mark Harris to the following: The Pensions Ombudsman, The Pensions Advisory Service, Fraud Action, my MP, the letters sections of every newspaper financial pages and I will lodge a complaint with the police.
So he better get his act together before the pension changes in April or his chickens will finally be coming home to roost.0
