Single claim to a joint claim?

I have two children a one year old and a two year old I'm on income support because of being a lone parent my partner is moving in with us next weekend he's on esa work component how do we go about claiming a joint claim? Will the claim be sorted before our next payment is due? And which is the best way to claim? Me on my partners esa or him on my income support claim?
Wishing everyone the best of luck for 2020 ☘️

You will have to be added to your partner's ESA claim.

My partner moved in with me on 28th Feb at which point we phoned up for me to be added to his ESA claim.

We received the 49 page ESA change of circumstances form quite quickly, and sent it back return of post, but so far have not had any further communication. His money was stopped immediately, and we don't know when it will resume. I was on income based JSA until very shortly before the claim so I was 'in the system' and they have agreed my carer's allowance claim (though they will not be paying that until sometime in April).

I hope you have a better experience than we have been having.

Which could take a while to sort and correct me if im wrong but they stop tax credits and restart it as a new claim when you go from a single to a joint claim xx
