Investing for university fees

My ex and I have an endowment that will mature in a couple of months time which we would like to invest for our daughters' college fees (or at least cost of living expenses). Appreciate advice as to whether a fixed cash ISA post July increase is best option or a Santander 1-2-3 accoutn which will pay 3% upto £20k

Better to post on the Savings board as the eventual use of the money is completely incidental. However, one question that is it worth asking you is how long will it be until your daughter goes to university? Oh, and another is how much the endowment will pay out?0

Personally, I think it better if they take out the loan for the fee's and use the cash savings you made, for a deposit on their first house.
(Nephew's parents paid off all his student loans when he graduated, but he has yet to earn anywhere near where he would have started paying anything significant, but he also doesn't earn enough to save up much for a deposit on his first house)0
