A&l sent letter stating its not bank charges the oft consider unfair it credit card c

Really unsure of which step to take next. Sent letter requesting bank charges on 11th june never received anYthing back within the 14 days. Sent another letter stating i will be taking them to court if they do not respond within the next 7 days. Received letter stating that the office of fair trading has commented that they consider the level of late payment fees to be unfair, however, they were actually referring to late payment fees for credit card payments, which are quite distinct from a bank's fee on current account. They have also sent a leaflet out stating the steps to handling a complaint

They are correct in what they say OFT have commented on the high level of charges on credit cards, but OFT are still investigating bank charges and have not issued any statements yet so who's to say what their comments will be on bank charges. And also who mentioned OFT anyway, ( assuming you used the letter templates on this site ) you are claiming your charges back because you feel they are excessive compared to what it actually cost the bank, it is for the bank to prove that their charges are reasonable in relation to their costs, in other words this is just a red herring to try and put you off claiming, move on to the next level, issue court procedings via small claims...
