default that no one can talk about

Hello,

I got a copy of my credit file because im looking to buy a house in the new year. (got a holiday coming up)

but I found a defualt on my file from a old o2 account.. one I protested I had no idea about, Well any way it said the default was placed on my file by the lowell group (DCE) so I contacted them to find out what the crack was.
They then replied and said this account was now with moorcroft (DCE)

so I contacted moorcroft replied yesterday saying the account is no longer with them and is in there worlds "returned to client"

so I now have this red mark against my name that I cant speak to any one about because lowell say its with moor croft and moorcroft say its been sent back

any ideas?

  • contact o2, i cant be certain but one default from a phone account most likely wont have an impact on getting a mortgage
goal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A
  • Could you post some more info please? It sounds like a typical Lowell tactic, so my question would be how old the account is, i.e. when you last acknowledged/paid?

    default was placed 29/04/2012

and I emailed them last month in regards to it, but claimed I was unaware what the debt was.... at the time this was true,
so the debt is about 3/4 years old no payments have been made and I have not acknowledged the debt since

Lowell are showing as the "owners" so they need to either remove it or advise you of paying (then you can decide to pay or dispute)

Send a note to one of the CRA's that the information is incorrect and to remove the default, Lowell will soon come back saying it's correct.
