Replacement garden fence height

I'm looking to replace my existing garden fence which is 6' high. I'd like to replace it with 6'6" (2 meter) fence panels. The boundaries are not adjacent a highway.
I've looked at the government planning portal, but I'm still confused!
Can anyone advise please, do I need planning permission?

My understanding, from an argument I had with my own Council a couple of years ago, is that anything of 1.83m (6') and under does not need PP.
For a 2m fence I would have thought you'd need PP. Best thing to do is give your local Council's Planning Department a ring and ask them. I suspect the answer will be in the affirmative for that height.
Just as a matter of interest, how were you going to achieve the 2m height? All the fencing products I've seen for sale over the last few weeks (I'm looking myself) have been a maximum height of 1.83m (6'). My guess would be you're going to add gravel-boards to a 1.83m fence panel, which should achieve 2m overall height.PLEASE NOTE:

Generally two metres if not fronting a highway or public footpath, and 1 metre if it is.0
