MyHermes - Am I covered?

I sent something by MyHermes last week and when I looked to see if it had been delivered the tracking said 'Delivered, left in porch'. I've already had good feedback so they've obviously got it but if they'd said they hadn't got it would the fact the Hermes say it's delivered be good enough for ebay?
The parcel weighed under 1kg, was worth £25 and it cost £2.85ish to send.
Was planning on using MyHermes again so just wanted to check.

Its a regular thing with couriers - and the buyer probably doesn't even have a porch. It could mean dumped on step, in bin or behind a plant pot. Its even been dumped outside terraced houses - on a public path!

You can stop it buy paying the £1 extra for a signature.

Never tested it - but i would say your not covered on Ebay.
  • As the item is £25 myHermes saying it's delivered is enough for eBay, although it may be best to get on to myHermes about it, just in case the same thing is happening to other parcels in the area.

You might be right - as Ebay staff generally lack intelligence and just read the headline.

But what the tracking is really saying is 'could not deliver - so dumped on a step'.
